Launch of 111 Option 4, the new Bedfordshire palliative coordination service!

This new service is available from today for all adults in Bedfordshire with a palliative diagnosis. Available 24/7, it offers one single point of contact for patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals.

This initiative is the result of a strong partnership between Keech HospiceSue Ryder St John’s Hospice, and the NHS, working together to make access to palliative care easier and more reassuring.

Key Benefits:

  • One number for advice and support
  • No referral needed, patients or healthcare professionals can just call
  • Coordination of care packages
  • Signposting to the right services
  • Support in peoples own homes
  • Improved opportunity for patients to plan for their future care needs

Therefore, from today the My care Coordination team, working with the Palliative care hub at St Johns will be known as the Bedfordshire palliative coordination service.
